my ramblings on cities, planning, transit, maps, politics, chicago, records, soccer, and anything else i damn well please.
about me
Opinionated thirty-three year old liberal white male, born in the Seattle suburbs, raised in the Los Angeles exurbs. Have spent my adult life (so far) in Portland (good city, would be great if there were more jobs), San Diego (horrible city, period) and on the Oregon Coast (tremendously beautiful, but a bit dull) before relocating to Chicago (great when it's not cold). Obsessions include the beautiful game, the Portland Trailblazers, soul and jazz records, vintage airline ephemera, pontificating, dressing nicely and travelling whenever and wherever my budget will allow.
I write about issues pertaining to urban planning and design, active transportation, public transit, politics, economic development, environmental management, policy, history, geography and more with a slightly irreverent, snarky slant. Try not to be offended, it's only intended to force people to think about their worldviews, and for the record, I can take it as well as I can dish it out.
